How a Kasco deicer works
A Kasco deicer is a submerged motor and propeller that lifts slightly warmer water from below up to the surface. That keeps a patch of open water around docks, boat lifts and pilings, which reduces the risk of ice damage.
Hang it straight down for a round opening or angle it for a long, narrow one. On 120V models a C-10 thermostat or C-20 timer and thermostat runs the unit only when it is needed; 208 to 240V models use a C-220 control panel. We size and place each unit for your shoreline, water depth and winter conditions.
Ice safety: the open water and the thin ice around a deicer are a hazard. Post warning signs and keep people and pets off the ice.
