Lake and Pond Management in Idaho

From long winters under ice to hot, dry summers, we manage Idaho lakes, ponds and reservoirs from our office in Eagle.

Serving Idaho

Restoring balance to Idaho lakes and ponds

Living Waters Environmental manages lakes, ponds and reservoirs across Idaho from our office in Eagle. From mountain lakes and community ponds to irrigation reservoirs and golf course water features, we test the water, map what is happening below the surface and build a management plan around your goals.

Every project starts with a Lake and Pond Assessment. We look at water quality, plants, algae and sediment to find what is driving the problem, then recommend the right mix of services.

Lake management in Idaho

What shapes Idaho lakes and ponds

Long ice cover

Ice stays on many ponds for much of the winter, and shallow ponds can run low on oxygen under it and lose fish.

Hot, dry summers

Hot, dry summers warm the water and drive algae blooms.

Irrigation fed ponds

Many ponds are filled with irrigation water that carries nutrients, which feed algae and weeds.

Invasive mussels

Quagga mussels were found in the Snake River in 2023. Boaters must stop at every open inspection station.
