How diffused aeration works
A PondSeries system uses a rocking piston compressor in a composite cabinet on shore to push air through EasySet weighted airline to ProAir 4 diffusers on the pond bottom. The rising bubbles lift bottom water to the surface, so the system circulates your pond and carries oxygen rich surface water down to the deeper water.
A healthier pond bottom in summer, safer fish in winter
In summer, oxygen at the bottom reduces nutrient release from the sediment and helps the pond’s natural bacteria break down muck, since they need oxygen at the bottom.
In winter, aeration keeps an area of ice open above the diffusers so gases can escape, which lowers the risk of winter fish kills.
