How an Ice Eater works
An Ice Eater is a submerged motor and propeller that lifts slightly warmer water from below up to the surface, keeping a patch of open water around docks, boats and piers. That reduces the risk of ice damage through the winter.
It runs in 2 to 3 feet of water and hangs from the two 25 foot ropes in the box. An optional thermostat runs it only when it is cold enough to need it. We size and place each unit for your shoreline, water depth and winter conditions.
Ice safety: the open water and the thin ice around a deicer are a hazard. Post warning signs and keep people and pets off the ice.
